Stadthöfe Hamburg in new glory |
Without a doubt, the commercial and residential quarter “Stadthöfe” is one of the Hanseatic city’s showcase projects. On the one hand, the quarter scores with its central location near the new Wall, Stadthausbrücke and Grosse Bleichen, and on the other hand, both the architecture and the mix of uses within the quarter are extremely diverse.
The architecture of the Stadthöfe successfully takes up the aspect of “combining old and new”. The concept of the Stadthöfe combines the revitalisation of the historic building fabric with the revitalisation and connection of the courtyards within the development. In the listed buildings of the former city development authority directly in Hamburg’s city centre, a versatile ensemble of buildings was created with a mix of uses including retail, hotel, gastronomy, residential, office and exhibition space.
In the inner courtyards, the façade was designed with glazed ABC ceramic slips.
