Visual depth through light reflections – Specialist centre Bonn-Beuel |

Based on the design by “bob architektur Robert Wetzels”, a specialist medical centre with 15 medical practices and medical services was built in Bonn-Beuel. A large supermarket, a pharmacy and gastronomy areas complete the utilisation concept. The outer skin of the building was made of pearl-coloured façade ceramics, which bring the building to life when the sun shines.

A silver-coloured “brick slips” with an edge length of 13 cm, specially designed for the façade design, was developed according to the specifications of the architectural office bob-architektur BDA. The 340,000 individual, different tiles were applied by hand to an ETICS. The varying sunlight changes the reflection of the many, shimmering tiles and creates a play of light and shadow rich in contrast, which again emphasises the special nature of the location.

The specialist medical centre in Bonn-Beuel was opened in spring 2014. On the right bank of the Rhine in Bonn, a modern medical centre for 15 practices as well as medical service providers was built directly on Konrad-Adenauer-Platz. On the ground floor, gastronomy and retail space complement the medical centre.
